TaylorMade Burner Superfast 2.0 Review

Although often overshadowed by the popular R-series, the TaylorMade Burner driver has developed quite a reputation around golf courses as a top tier driver as well. With the 2011 incarnation, the TaylorMade Burner Superfast 2.0 driver, TaylorMade has again raised the bar with numerous technological advances.
One of the most consistent pieces of feedback from users who have tried this club is that the increased distance off the tee. The club has been designed with this purpose in mind, starting with it being a longer club in general – measuring 46.5”. The Burner Superfast 2.0 boast an increased length and at just 279 grams, it’s the lightest TaylorMade driver ever made. You will be able to whip this club through the ball for maximum distance.

TaylorMade has also designed the club head to be more aerodynamic which once again promotes less drag and increased club speed. As well as the new design, TaylorMade has expanded the sweet spot on this club to be more forgiving. Similar to the R11 driver, the club is also making use of “White technology.” The face of the club is black and the crown is now colored white to make it easier to properly address the ball in the middle of your stance.
The stock shaft in the Burner Superfast 2.0 is the Matrix X-Con 4.8 and the grip is a Winn B-11 Lite.
At $299, the Burner Superfast 2.0 is almost a bargain. If you’re looking for added distance off the tee, you need to seriously consider this club. Not only did it add a few extra yards on this author’s ball, it felt like every ball I hit was right on the sweet spot. I would highly recommend taking this club out for a test drive at the range and see what it can do for your game.
